Horse grooming thread

Hallo! I definitely have my brushing preferences, lol.
Oster has never let me down, and you've got to have a magic brush! I also absolutely love my pumice stones, I would go through them SO fast during the show seasons.
Unpopular practice/opinion: Using a metal curry comb on the lower legs, even in the summer. A metal curry is a constant companion to me when grooming and is perfectly fine on the legs if you are careful. I drew blood because of it once. Once(and it was but a drop). It's really easy to get wrong, but you learn quick. My show "pony" would always get his fetlocks absolutely caked in mud and he would never stand for a bath. 😂 Soaking wasn't an option.
The pumice stones are so awesome for grass and poop stains! They were about as magic, if not moreso, than the magic brushes!
I also developed an absolute need for a hoof pick with bristles, lol. The bristles would always stab the back of my hand though.

Hoof picks with brushes are very useful!

"Roll, you say? Well, let's oblige the people!" Max says. We got a ton of rain last night and today. Send help and magic brushes.
My 4H pony was a very light palomino. The dry lot portion of his large pasture wouldn't ever drain very well and so it wasn't quite a "dry" lot. I don't know how, but he would roll, and get entirely encased in a crusty mud shell. 😂 And in his mane, ohh, it was always terrible getting that out.

I bet the barn was a lot dirtier by the time you finished grooming him! 🤣
