Horse Help

Depending on how young and how obedient the horse is, and how heavy duty the parade is, I'm not sure a month or two of desensitization really would wind up with a safe reliable mount. If it's a very noisy parade with lots of weird stuff in it, and if the rider doesn't really have full control of the horse at all times, I'd hesitate to recommend going in the parade. If it's a pretty tame little affair and includes a lot of very steady horse/rider combinations that will be all around the horse, and the horse is normally under very good control in strange situations, then it sounds better.

I have been working on it for 6 mo.!!
