Oh, that makes sense, thank you! Right now I just ride for pleasure, but it would be cool to do something else a bit down the road. Barrel racing maybe? If I ever learn English riding than jumping seems fun.

Nice! I did some barrel racing and it's really really fun. Sadly the horse I learned on is too old for it now (she loves it but it's just too hard on her to do it consistently and often) and the other horse I did it a little on is just way too lazy LOL! I eventually gave up doing it on him. I used to be all into speed events when I was younger but now I just want to do trail riding with the mare I'm helping train since she's much more suited to it.

Does your barn do a lot of barrel racing at all?

And same! If I ever did English riding I'd probably want to do jumping, too.

Western riders ride two handed a lot as well! It really depends on the horse and what type of riding you are doing (within western).

Eh, as far as I've seen they don't really do a lot of stuff like that. It's a pretty informal environment.

I ride too. I rent a welsh pony. She is named Swallow and she's a 13 year old mare. I only rode her for a year but alteady I have complete trust in her (in a horsey way). I like riding her bareback or just without stirrups. She's a real sweetheart
