And our last mare, I haven't got a photo of yet we just signed the papers to get her a week or so ago, her name is Stage Clearance. She's in foal and due at the end of this month as well, but we aren't contracted for the baby.

We have two at our place also, first is our pony "Short shorts" and then "London" oh and I cannot forget donkey!

1 1/2 yrs ago, I rehomed my first horse that was a little green that was sold to me as 'dead broke - excellent for a beginner' and her pasture mate that I got that was dead broke - very safe but a little boring compared to my first.

I was unemployed for a period and then went back to work part-time and could no longer care for them properly.

I told the gal if she ever couldn't keep Miss Kitty (my first) I would want her back. I got a message this weekend that the gal is planning on moving back to San Diego and going back to school and only thinks she'll take Dixie (the older horse). Would I want Kitty back. Oh YES, I want her back. I've been following twentynine's thread that has made me miss my girl everyday since.

Attached are pics of Miss Kitty from the day I got her at age 5 - she is now 9 yrs old. She's a registered Spotted Saddle Horse - Dodge City Kitty.

She has a chunky quarter horse body - I didn't want a horse with a smaller butt than mine

This is a picture of the two girls side by side - the day I bought her and brought her to the barn to get her vet checked and see how she got along with bossy Kitty. I was boarding Kitty prior to moving to 4 acres. I was amazed at how alike they looked. Dixie (on the left) is a registered Tennessee Walker, 17 yrs old in that picture and a little on the lean side.

I'm going to ask a question, as I don't have photos to upload handy, and this is a "horse owner's thread"...There's a new post... re: "fly sprays". I'm not so concerned about which to use as to how to get my 2 mustangs to handle being sprayed. My mare in particular HATES the spray sound, and if I try a wipe, she rears the second she gets a whiff of the stuff. (the gelding does as well, and he's bigger and more p.o.d!) I've tried the desensitizing process, using only water, but as soon as she smells anything chemical or citronella, all bets are off. Any ideas? Thanks for any input!

Hi im new to BYC but i had to join this thread as horses are mine and my familys passion all but my dad are nuts about horses

we have 5 in total at the moment but we seem to find them or they find us in odd way's we have only ever been out and looked to buy 3 horse the rest seem to come to us.

my beauty is Aiming to please or his stable name is shamrock or shammy he's a 15,1 Tobiano tri-coloured and he is wonderful i used to show him every weekend sat and sun and we very rarely dropped below 3rd place but we could never really move very high as shammy has a bit of an attitude problem if he doesnt want to do it no one is going to make him, and we have problems showing him in hand as he hates moving faster than a snails pace when not being ridden but moves fast enough when a stallion get anywhere near him as he is stallion mean even though he is fully gelded?

shammy came to me after the pony i used to ride got put to sleep due to laminitas we where on holiday and one of my moms oldest friends who used to own a riding school called her up and told here he had brought me a selection of horses from a gypsy fair and i could chose any one i wanted out of 3 one was 16,2 and too big at the time one was 14,2 and wouldnt have lasted me very long and shammy was just perfect and he even excepted a loss of money off me i found out 3 years later as i gave my savings of £1000 to buy him and he cost £2200 but there like second grandparents to me so they said they just wanted me happy

next we have A touch of blue stable name Boo he is my sisters competition horse he is a 15,2 English grey cob and a real good doer but not a novice ride we got him after some people at the yard we where at had him for there daughter he is very nervous and all they did was shout at him the more he shouted the more scared and wound up he got until someone got hurt and my mom being my mom said we would ride him and train him for them just to stop them sending him to a horrid dealer and needless to say 9 years and 1 yard later we still have him

next we have A touch of majik he is one of our younger horses who we are in the prosses of bringing back after breaking him last year he is a 16 hand and still growing blanket spot and as gental as he is tall he always try's his best and is a complete gental giant nothing seems to bother him, he was brought to our old yard at 8 months old and for some unknown reason the boarded him into a stable saying he was too dangerous to put into a feild near mares? another that my mom couldnt stand the treatment of so brought him

Next we have Top Class Edition stable name TeeCee he is my moms pride and joy and the only horse we have at the moment we meant to buy my mom got him off a breeder friend he is a loud spot appalossa and her greatest joy he is not yet ready to break as he has a slight build but we are hoping to break him later this year

and last but not least we have Midge he has no show name and is just midge he was brought to our old stables by some people no one new and left to die at only 6 months old they gave the owner a story of how his mom died and they had hand raised him but as a 11,2 moorland pony no one after they abandoned him believed them this was at a time people where catching foals off the moors and selling them off cheep for quick money he is a little grey pony with the fiery spirit of his breed and has no liking for men after we where told they used to beat him around the head with sticks to try and control him if we hadnt of had him he would of been sent to a sale or culled as he had no value was badly sunburnt and close to starving on a small patch of grass in the hotest summer we have had in many years and if any of you know england thats amazing

soak a rag in fly spray and just hang it in her stall or paddock. eventualy she will get use to the smell. once she can handle that keep weting the hangign rag with fly spray while you spray her with water. once shes good with that jsut fly spray her.

Make em work till they hold still.....they will like that better I am sure.
