Most of the trouble with that is in Facebook poultry groups.Horse pellets are great when you’re dealing with moisture. I’ve never had issues with my chickens eating it. It’s so hard to sort through all the nonsense out there on what is and isn’t good for your chickens. I love having the ability to reach out to other chickens owners and ask questions. Just remember what works for someone else’s flock may not be the best for yours. Use your best judgement when sorting through all the well meaning advice.
Here, most are very respectful. Even when I mention that we've been using FG DE monthly in our coops for 10 years to prevent mites, or we heat our coops to 40F, those here who oppose or disagree with what we do generally don't say anything.
That's why so many start out their posts on FB with, "Please don't attack me, but..." Here, it is like you said,
And also, what works for our flocks may not work for someone else's. So when I see the question posed, I offer what we do or use that's worked for us and leave it to them to decide whether to try it.Just remember what works for someone else’s flock may not be the best for yours.
