I for one can join the screaming banshee club!

I'm always embarrassed because my screams are usually obscenities ! And im very polite and quiet mannered typically! But i DO always stay on while verbalizing and usually come off when i dont.

oh, and i was always told when riding a buck to get the head up however possible. so it's a quick jerk, lots of leg squeezing and a growl typically, but that is when the horse is head between knees bronc bucking not just crow hops...
 
I have to agree that however well screaming at your horse works, it will come back to bite you in the long run... I work for a woman who has been a riding instructor for her entire adult life; she is teaching me the technique of "natural horsemanship".

I'm not an instructor, horse guru, or even horse owner, but I have been around horses long enough to know that screaming is probably not a good idea...

Maybe try getting off and walking/trotting with him from the ground next time? That always works to calm down an extremely skittish mare I work with.
