horse shelter?

I wouldnt worry to much about her. As long as she has the option of a shelter shell be fine. Our horses rarely go in the 2 barns we have for them. Theyd much rather be out in the weather. If she needs to take shelter she will do it own her own.

Our mules are a bit more weather proof than our horses were, but when we had horses, they would just as soon stand outside and shiver, as take refuge in the barn. The mules wouldn't even bother with the barn, except that's where they get feed. In what severe weather we do get, they stand out there like big 'ol weathervanes with their butts pointed up wind. Easy to tell what direction it's blowing outside. In the summer, thier hides get so hot you can't hold you hand on them without getting 2nd degree burns. I think the aversion to enclosures is an instinct to avoid entrapment by preditors that can't be breed out.
