The instructions are printable on the site that sells it, and it says it can lift a door that weighs 7lbs! Maybe that will help?
Also a little FYI...I ordered the door, the outdoor package, and the timer. I received an email asking me to call them regarding my order. I called and they wanted to discuss what I was trying to accomplish with my door, because they did not want to sell me parts that I did not need! I thought this was very good customer care on their part! They also informed me that the little 4.95 part (can't remember the name?) was only if you need to open/close more than one door. So...it can be used for multiple doors, I guess. Just thought I'd share!
