Horse Stall Pellets

The only thing that will "dry" a run is to stop water from entering.
Adding more organic material will simply HOLD more water.

Add sand if you want it dry

That's my plan when I can get in there. I don't relish digging and carrying out lots of wet leaves and straw in this cold weather. I did put down some dry straw so they could get their feet dry - they don't care. They just run outside and splash in the puddles like ducks.

I cleaned out their coop and put fresh bedding - I think they used it to dust bathe today.

Very, very good point! They are kinda tricky to walk on, like walking on marbles.

I did bust my tush and landed on the poop board and pulled it right off the wall. I am far from graceful.

Thanks everyone for your ideas. Hopefully this muckky, yukky mess will dry up soon. After the awful drought we had a couple of summers ago, I feel really bad about whining about the rain, but I didn't realize what havoc it could cause in the chicken pen.

Keeping my fingers for warm sunny days soon.

Just don't put them down on a smooth floor and try to walk across them!! We put them in the horse stalls where they normally pee then cover them with regular shavings. Almost busted my tush a few times.
Ah. THANK you so much for this bit of advice. My aviary is on a tile floor (our very large balcony.) I guess I'm going to return on of the two bags I bought yesterday. I'll put some under their waterers.
