Hoping she is OK. My roo, Wings (barred rock) died last nightThanks! So I was going to get on here yesterday, but i had a chicken emergency. It appears that all my chickens have starved out one of my little lavender Orpington hens. I went in the coop and she was just laying there and I thought that was weird so I walked up to her and she didn't run off which was weird again, so I poked her and she didn't get up and I was like "oh no" so I scooped her up and took her in the house, and I tried putting her under a heat lamp but of course it had to burn out after 5 minutes, but she was cold, her poor little feet were cold, so I wrapped her in a towel and held her, and I couldn't get her to eat anything so I boiled an eggs and I had to pry open her beak and stuff it in to get her to eat it. After about an hour she was eating the egg a little better and trying to fight me when I opened her beak, so I took her out and out her in a little cage with food and water in the garage (it's nice and warm in there) for the night, and when I left she was standing on her own, I'm about to go check on her now, so I hope all is good.
Thanks! That's great info! She's so beautiful! June needs a bath too. She's disgusting, but she hates baths so much, I gotta muster up some motivation to get her to do it. I really wish I hadn't went on vacation becuase June was wonderful before I left but since I've been back she's been acting up, mostly because she's apparently really buddy sour now. I couldn't get her to ride out in the pasture yesterday, so I did do some ground work with her out there instead. I took her through (or over in her case) a ditch, at first she would only go around, then she'd jump it then start bucking, and finally I got her to where she'd trot through/jump it and not buck, so I ended there because sweat was literally pouring off of us, but I'll work on it some more. I figure if I get her focusing on me doing other things in the pasture I'll be able to get her to focus on me under saddle again. And good luck with your mini! It'll be very rewardingTeaching June to lunge/round pen was the most difficult task for me by far, I watched tons of YouTube videos, Clinton Anderson, talked to other horse people, and even had someone out to help me and I still couldn't figure it out, finally I asked my cousin who trains horses and she gave me some advice that I actually understood, and it really worked for me. I'll post screenshots of her message. (Although when I got June to trot I wasn't so much hitting her butt as I was the ground behind her, but it's different for every horse on how sensitive they are), I assume this advice stands for minis as well. Btw, can I ask why you have a deadline? I'm sure you'll make it, it took me 3.5-4 months to get June under saddle and I had virtually no experience prior, so you can do it!![]()
Oh, and yesterday when I was tacking June up, she turned around and just tried to bite the crap out of me, luckily I had a flowy top on so all she got was shirt but it shocked me! She got a good pop on the nose for that one. And I got a video of her and Penelope galloping, I tried to take screenshots of the video to post but they were hauling you know what so all the pictures are blurry. Especially June, she is seriously the fastest horse I've ever owned. Good thing she's lazy or I'd probably be scared of her![]()

Comanche - he looks like something out of a fairy tale
He's a rescue horse we got free bc the people thought he was deaf. He was very wild. When I finally got my hands on him and looked in his ears I almost fainted. They were FULL of bugs. So bad that our vet had us water down bleach and put it on his ears with a cloth after we finally got all of the tics, lice, mites, flies, ect. out of them. That was around 7 years ago now and he's not deaf. Imagine that, a deaf horse that comes running when he's called.
Poor guy! That is HORRIBLE.
