I have to side with GingersHuman here. You already know what it's like to deal with an animal that you don't dare turn your back on; is that where you want to be for however many years this animal lives? Who else is at risk of harm from this horse?

My horse Chess is a cryptochid stallion. His umm, balls are still up in his loins since he never dropped them. He is extremely aggressive and has actually stricken down people before.
Mostly when he is well exercised he is a little sweety but when you let your guard down, he's dangerous.

He is an amazing jumping and is currently jumping 4"30.

Does anyone know much about handling cryptochids?

YES! Surgery! It's the only thing that will remove that pesky testosterone. It will still take months for the testosterone to leave his body. With testicles, he has already proven he can't handle the hormones and will never be trustworthy at best, and will be extremely dangerous at worst.[/QUOTE]

This may sound crazy, and I just thought of this... but I wonder if there is a way to make the testicles atrophy instead of expensive surgery.

The only thing I can think of, and I don't even know if it's possible, but hormone therapy. But, it's very expensive as well and would have to be continued the horse's entire life.

Next week it's finally going to warm up a few days! I'm moving the hot wire fence back so the horses have a bigger dry lot, removing the rusty old trough and stock tank since they'll be in the way now, cutting off the pointy stumps, trimming low branches off the trees, raking, putting actual latches or chains on the gates (im using twine right now and it's awful!), cleaning out the spot where the barns connect so I can take the gate off of it and use it as a spot to give them water out of the elements, cleaning out a an old freezer to store grain in, setting up some troughs or buckets so I can start feeding soy bean meal and rice bran, and I need to remember to get some minerals too! And then my filly will be coming home. It's gonna be a long week!
My cat hit her head and couldn't walk right at the beginning of this week but after a vet visit she is all better.
The next day my golden retriever had puppies (btw if anyone's in the market let me know! Lol).
Im gonna need a break soon! Lol
Right now it's snowing and 12°

I'm gonna try to squeeze in some riding next week too, if June can behave. I was suppose to go on a ride with a new friend the other day, but my cousin almost burned the farm down so I had to cancel

Sounds like lots of good improvements! Be careful with the soybean meal, it can cause some horses to go wacky, as it can change their hormone levels due to soybeans having phyto-estrogens. Also, when looking for minerals, look for one without added iron. Those trace mineral blocks or loose trace mineral salt is almost all iron, which they don't need.

Thanks for the advice! Is there anything out there for makin the horses look good that works better than soy bean meal and rice bran? Or anything that works the same but is cheaper?
