Horse Talk

I think I've found a trainer who wants to trade him in exchange for training June (fine tuning, neck reining, and start in trail class training just for fun). So hopefully it works out, the only obstacle is she's almost 4 hours away.
And now I just have to muster up the motivation to spend some time working with Reno before I send him to his new home, I'm having some problems with anxiety so it's making me not want to go out and work with him.

Wow that would be awesome!

And aw that stinks :( hopefully you can!

Is he a bad horse?

Thought you all would get a kick out of this picture... We had storms roll thru 4 times yesterday, and I had goats giving birth through all of them. My daughter's new TB mare never left that window - she was my "goat midwife" all day. My daughter was sitting there trying to bottle feed a set of triplets and Lady was licking her head. Triplets are out of a small fainter doe, by a big Boer buck. The doe usually kids small kids, but this year, her kids were as big as my WEEK OLD full blood Boer kids - they were HUGE! The doe had so much extra weight on her between triplets + massive udder that her ligaments gave out on all 4 legs, and she crashed. She'll be okay, but I have to help her up every 2 hours so the kids can nurse. Her legs have already improved greatly in 24 hours, and she got up unassisted a bit ago.

I lost my Arab gelding on March 4th, I had owned him for 30 years... Lady is his "replacement". She is a 22yo 15.3h TB that has competed in eventing and dressage. She'll be getting back into competition with my daughter, but NOT in eventing. At 22yo, we'll stick to pleasure and equitation and dressage classes.

LOL that's funny and adorable! I hope the goats are okay. And Lady is beautiful!

Any advice for getting the horses not to be buddy sour? They're seperated right now but I have no way to keep them completely apart, they can still come up to each other at the fence. It's making them a pain to work with.
Also I'm selling Reno and think I might sell Indie too

No he's not bad or anything, he's actually a pretty good horse. I just love Jasmine and June more than anything and want to focus on them and not leave the geldings sit

Do you think the doe could be in ketosis?

Oh, I just love selling horses lol.
My ad for indie consists of, in this order, title "grade 2 year old gelding", price, town, and then all of his info, and I included like 18 pictures.
Someone messaged me and asked if he'd make a good barrel prospect, I said I have no idea, because I don't know anything about barrel racing and of course, he's never been ridden, then they said "price?" So I told them, and then "pics?" So I sent the same ones that were in the ad, and they said "barrel prospect? Location?" So I repeated myself, then told them the location, and then they said "any speed? Age?" So I answered again, then they asked if I'd drive him two hours to them. Lol
And another person asked if I'd take trades so I asked what they had, and they said a well broke grey gelding, but they'd need some money on their end, so I asked how much and they said $1,000 ???? I can't handle it lol.
So needless to say, I haven't sold him yet

I wanna say he didn't even click the ad and just saw the title but then how would he get your info to message you? So he had to have clicked it... and even if you don't wanna read the entire ad, the pictures are right at the top blatantly obvious and on the search page it says if an ad has pictures.... people are so dumb lol
