It's still not warm enough for me to put them outside at 2-3 weeks.

I plan on putting my next batch out on day one.

I don't see any reason not to. I'll put this batch straight into the outside brooder. I like your idea of lining the floor with dirt boxes. Keeps the feet off the wire until they get bigger.

I don't even know why I have wire cages because I don't use them like normal people would use them.
