This is a spin off role play lf @Bakbuk‘s Wilderness Heights roleplay. Only this roleplay is focussed around the horses.
There does take place slightly in the future, so horses have populated the heights, and there are many neighboring herds now.
To begin there are three main herds, however, once colts reach one year old they may begin forming their own new herds.
Conditions to become a ‘herd’ is they must include at least one stallion, and two mares. Once a herd has formed it will be added to the current herds list for new players to join.
Note: pairs, loners, gangs of colts, etc... Are all okay. But they will not be added to the current herds list for new characters to add I their form.
“Wilderness Heights is a (fictional) ring of mountains in north Colorado surrounding a valley with a lake. The wildlife that inhabits the area has learned to adapt to their environment to survive and thrive in the heigh rockies. This region is home to many fascinating and extraordinary species of wildlife.” (Written by the original creator of this location, @Bakbuk.)

In the past horses roamed the lands,
The King of all the wild horses, Arsenio, was a blue dun stallion. He produced many foals, however most like the rest of his mares were bays and chestnuts. However, he did have one foal who stuck out against the rest, a blue dun daughter like himself. She was the foal of his prized mare, Ankareeda, who’s coat was black as night. They named their daughter Madea, meaning cunning, for she would have to be if she were to live amongst the dangers of this world.
Arsenio was a powerfu horse, and defeated any stallions who dare challenge him. One stallion, Akuji, decided he wanted Arsenio’s black mare to himself, so he tried to fight him, but failed. Arsenio defeated Akuji, and became the new leader of his mares and foals. One foal was particularly significant, her name was Ara. She was a beautiful bay roan filly. Her and Madea became quick friends, and she became like a second daughter to Madea’s mother.
Fast forward about a year, Madea and Ara are now yearlings. Madea has learned every trick she knows from her mother, and one day while she was out exploring she saw men in the high country. She had always been warned to steer clear of them for they were extremely dangerous. She ran back to warn her herd, but they had all been captured. She ran and ran, until she could no longer even smell the scent of humans. She had a bit of ‘survivors guilt’ and felt it was her fault. She searched for many years in case anyone else had escaped like her.
A few years later men came back to the heights, and Madea heard the sound of another horse. Out of curiosity she got to know him, he was a chestnut stallion named Alpha. Ultimately he became free, and joined her in the wild. The men then brought a mare to try and lure Alpha back, a pregnant bay roan named Ara. Little did they knew she was part of Madea’s herd in the past.
Alpha and Madea set her free, and she returned to her home.
Then men then brought a black stallion named King (the father to her foal) to try and get Ara back, but she did not go. Alpha and King fought a good fight, until King was crushed in a landslide of falling rocks caused by Madea.
