“Can you go on a date with Penny? Like right now? She needs to know she isn’t worthless and I think you’ll have a really awesome time with her” Estella flashed him her prettiest smile “pretty please with a sugar cube on top?”

The question caught Zelig off guard. But if it made Estella and Penny happy..."Well, alright." He smiled back at her. "Any suggestions of what we should do?"

Zelig nodded. "Will do. Have a great day, Estella." He smiled at her again and then trotted up to Penny. "Hi, Penny. I was wondering...do you want to go for a walk with me?"

Penny looked at Estella, her eyes saying, How? Then she looked into Zelig's eyes. "I would love to," She said softly. She shot Estella one more grateful look and then she started to trot next to Zelig.

Estella nodded and watched them go. She sighed, she had to admit she was a little jealous considering nobody had actually asked her out yet
 
Zelig trotted alongside Penny. "So, how are you?" He asked after a while.

"I'm good," Penny replied. "You?"

Zelig smiled. "Couldn't be better. I have a question - what's Estella like?"

Penny inwardly sighed. "Estella is an amazing friend. She's always doing nice things for me and encouraging me. She's really smart, too." She braced herself for Zelig to only ask questions about Penny but was pleasantly surprised.

"Do you like the river? I noticed you playing in the river earlier." Zelig said

Penny sighed. "I like it, but I'm not that strong of a swimmer."
 
Estella glanced around, not seeing the lead mare she charged into the river, the spray of the fresh water cooling her coat. It was such a beautiful time of year to go for a swim. She went in and began to swim, the current begin to get stronger the deeper she went out and suddenly she couldn’t fight the water “HELP” she neighed frantically

Zelig glanced up from his and Penny's conversation. "Wait right there," he said to Penny. Then he turned and galloped towards the river. Penny wondered what was wrong and followed him quickly.

Zelig paused at the bank and snorted uneasily when he saw what was going on. He didn't know what to do, but he couldn't let Estella die. Without thinking twice, he started to swim towards Estella.
