A horse like stormy may have had a bad habit from bad training, and just needed to be re-trained. Something like Parelli might have helped that horse. But no one wants to deal with issues like this. Just like my daughters 11 year old 14hh quarter pony. She is very laid back and a good pony on the ground. But when we tried to sell her, no one wanted her because pony has a habit of stopping with beginners and with certain riders she does not like and she will not MOVE. No whip, no spur can make her move, except for someone on the ground that leads her. So thus, no one wants this type and if we can't free lease her, then she goes to auction. We have used this pony in lead line on and off leadline successfully, daughter got a reserve champion on her. Reason we will be pressed to sell her, is we are losing our farm (as I said back in the forum earlier).

Just pray I can find a cheaper farmette to move to. I would really like to take my old horse with me and of course want to take my ameraucanas with me (both roos and hens). I just hate boarding as you can't see them as much and you do not know how they are being taking care of when you are not around

Wildlife rehabilitators often use a thin mash made out of cat kibble. I've added electrolytes and a tiny bit of honey to that. I've had some successes but also losses with nestlings. It really depends on if they want to eat. If they're interested in food you can start to really feed. Show them the dropper and wait for them to really open that beak and throw back their head. Start with tiny squirts of the mash. You will have to feed every half hour all day. You don't need to feed overnight. But start again really early in the morning, like four or five o'clock. If it gets too much for you call a wildlife rehab centre and take them there. If its not too long a drive for them.

Good luck and don't feel bad if it doesn't work out. That's just the way it goes most of the time. I think the little ones know they are being warm and cared for and that's better than just being abandoned.

The Dove died. I think the Blue Jay is about to die. It is falling on its back and closing its eyes.

Sorry, internet has been unreliable the past couple days.

I haven't heard from the sheriff's office, but a local I know stopped by today to look at her and she told me that they're going to be taking the horse and foal from the owner.

I am sorry that you have to see them go! (Didn't you say you like them?) But it will be better for the horses.
