the first chicken was daveadina a laced polish hen the sweetest hen ever that thaught me the hard way to quarintine any new birds especially from the auction !!!!!!!!! the rest of the flock is out free ranging except my 18 2 day olds in the brooder

im so glad to hear 55on you icelanic give me more hope summer was show 2years ago in walk trot classes with small kids and the we retired her a she gone down hill after that

Yea they tend to go down hill when they retire or have to much pasture time. I used to take dolly in a walk, I tried to everyday but at least every other day and she did better if we did that. Also saddle her up and just let her wear the saddle around in a safe paddock or arena for an hour or two from time to time. It makes them think they are still wanted/needed/ working!

I have a white crested blue polish hen too! Her name is rain and she is a doll baby too!

my polish hen is by far my favorite chicken of almost 50 chickens. i got her at an auction for 1 dollar. half grown with in 2days i thought she was going to die then my other chicken all got (only 8 back then) got so sick since then the only outside chickens have come from friends.or as peeps to be quarantined for 3 months.

So far I have been lucky. But I do the same thing as in get mine from babies or freinds too.
