Horses!!!!!!!!

Dealing with the heat here. and watching Tropical Storm Arthur closely.

Betsy the mule has recovered from the choking episode without further issue. I have the farrier coming to do the big girls' feet tomorrow.

Tell me about the heat... It's HOT!
I found a crack in my spots hoof today and I had to cut them back and file down his hoof alot further then I like them trimmed but I had to get all the crack out. I still didnt get it all out there is just a tiny hair line crack left. I'm Gonna watch it very close and hope it grows out the crack and fills in.... I'm glad Betsy the mule is dining great!!!!

I hope this is not breaking the rules but where snouts on the hurricane path are you. I'm up here in nc. We still don't know yet. The coast might get something but I am in middle of the state. I think if we get anything it will just be rain. Best of luck I hope y'all get by with out issue.

Wilmington is in the southeastern corner of NC. It's been quiet for a few years, but we've had a few where it seemed like every tropical system in the Atlantic wanted to call North Carolina home, and had to check in through ILM to do it (that's a local joke. The Wilmington airport is designated as ILM; it's a major landmark on the eastern flyways. You can often see the jet contrails make a bend in the sky as they come here, then change to a new heading). The current track still has the center of the storm passing east of us, but we are well within the cone of uncertainty. Time will tell.

Yea I was watching the news and following it "track" last night. Looks like the outer banks are going to get the worst if it. I am praying for all if you in it's path. And I'm praying for the ponies of the outer banks..... Do u have a good safe place for your horses/animals or do y'all get out of dodge?

I am not in the path, but we are expecting to get the tropical rains as Arthur passes by. Current guesstimates are 2" per hour. Bring it on. We haven't had a drop of rain since June 16th, and things are getting pretty brown with the heat we've been having. I don't get worried about flooding at my house, as we have gotten 7" of rain before without any issues. However, every road between me and "civilization" has wicked low spots, or "runs", some of which are 40 ft below see level. THEY will flood, and we will be cut off from town until the water recedes. No biggie.
