Host a Backyard Chicken Garden Party! (PICS!)

Well, when it started, I had work colleagues who kept hearing about my chickens and wanted to come see them. Three families who were seriously considering hens, and others that were just hen-curious.

I invited only those people the first time. This time, I'm including the whole neighborhood (we're in the city, and I like to keep the peace by sharing the bounty with my neighbors), some other people from church and work who have never been to my house, and some "return customers" who still haven't made up their mind about chickens. I have 2 friends with backyard hens who also come and co-host. Then people get lots of perspectives. Since it's really just an informal garden party with a chicken theme, I feel comfortable inviting friends who haven't asked specifically about backyard chickens... and then they leave interested! If not, they still had fun and good food.
Oh, and to get the word out, I also post it on Facebook. I have friends I didn't even know were interested in Chickens, but I did it "open invitation" style, and they invited themselves!

The beaks are bits of celery cut diagonally, and the tails are parsley or carrot greens. I also sprinkle mustard seed and celery seed in the middle of the plate so it looks like they are pecking at it.
