Ok since there is a lot of talk about keeping chickens warm in the
Coop & Run Design & Construction Forum.
I was asked to post this recipe. This drink will help keep you warm as you trudge out to check on your chickens!! So here you go 2mnypets!!!

In a large sauce pan combine...

1 pound box brown sugar
1 pound box powder sugar
1 pound butter (only butter no substitues)
1 quart vanilla ice cream
1 teaspoon allspice
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg

Heat slowly over low heat until like cake batter. Remove from heat and allow to come to room temperature. Put in freezer.

To serve:
Place 1 heap teaspoon of batter in each mug.
Then add:
1 jigger rum
1 jigger brandy
Fill with hot milk or water and mix. Sprinkle with nutmeg. we only use the hot milk in our mugs makes it a nice rich creamy drink!

* Batter MUST stay frozen and scoop out as needed.*

Jigger= about 1 1/2 oz of course you can plus or minus the amount of rum and brandy to your taste.

This make a large amount but what I do is fill mason jars with the batter and when we go to a party or over to a friend's house I bring over a mason jar of it. Like a Hostess gift.

You can also serve it as a virgin drink. Virgin means NO Rum and Brandy added

We grew up with these all winter although I think Mom use to spike our drinks on occasion

Oh man wooden-pony....thank you so very much!!!!!!!!! It sounds very tempting and delicious.. wish I had the time right now to run into town and get the needed ingredients (the rum and or brandy). May need something like this after the episode with the kitten today. Thanks a bunch!

So what If I am, I'm just saving myself for the right girl. No one has to know or do they check that prior to serving too??

Now you got me confused too?

A virgin drink has no alcohol.

That is one of the most deliciously evil recipes I have ever read.

I can feel zits swelling on my nose just reading it. A whole box of butter...I've got it saved for winter.
