hot summer temps and new hatchlings

i live in n.w. tennessee. just had 10 cochin and 4 bantams to hatch. have moved them to my brooder in the barn. i have the heat lamp on them. is it too much for them during the day as temps climb?

Is your brooder large enough that they can get completely away from the heat lamp if desired? If you are home during the day, I would just check the temps off and on and adjust lamp accordingly. If not, I would just make sure they have plenty of space so they can get away from the heat if it's too hot.
