I have two white turkeys. I think they are both females. They look really big and I just can't remember when we got the turkeys. Im still looking that up. So anyhow one of my turkeys is hotter than the other. I felt it this evening. I always try to pet them and be as friendly as they are.. so the one that is redder seemed hotter. It was cloudy and a little cool today and rained little bit. They have plenty of food and water and I usually let them out when the chickens aren't out or if it's not raining. Idk if they like rain or not but it's hard to get them in at night and I have to goad just a little. I guess I need any tips on how to get better at having turkeys around... I'll take pictures tomorrow

So yesterday I felt one of the turkeys and it was really warm and it's redder than the other one. It's neck looks different than the other. Is it swollen bc it's sick? Not sure what's going on there. And this morning they started to fight with each other. I want to harvest them but idk when and I can't remember when I got them? Do weigh them and take a guess that way? I'm just wondering how the one turkey is doing that's really warm to the touch and I've just noticed it so idk how long it's been? But I'm wondering about the water they have plenty to drunk and eat and I let them run the yard from time to time but we have a pond that's under construction and it has really green water. And sometimes when I go to check on them one of them.will be at the ledge in the pond. The water has gone down and so anyways ere still fixing it but could the green water have something to do.. idl if its drinking it I never see it drink any but could it just be trying to get away from the other a bit. The other one is always sitting nearby probably for company, but just wondered since they started fighting this.lorning as i let them out and so i put the attacker back inside. Lmk your thoughts please.

I couldn't post a video does anyone know how to do that. Just wanted to show they started pecking at each other. I read it could be pecking order but they are making each other bleed and the sounds they were making.

In order to post a video you must first post it on a video hosting site such as YouTube. Once you have the URL for the video, paste the URL into the message box.

It is dominance thing. They will keep at it until one wins. If both are equally matched it may take quite awhile and may resume at any time. The more you interfere with them, the longer it will take for them to settle their differences.

The swelling of the neck is normal.

So just let them dual it out then.. makes me sad .. like it seems worse than the chickens but maybe it's bc they are so big and plus friendly.. it looks like it hurts.. but I'm sure your right I was just going to open the door and walk away but I wanted to find out first.. first time turkey owners

It does hurt and they will draw blood. They are turkeys and this is how they settle things between them.

It's a long read but worth it. You can see how @memphis dealt with her "warring" turkeys in Tribute to @memphis and her Lapper turkeys
