Hot Weather + No Eggs?

It's 95 degrees here on some days and I may get 3 eggs and I have about 30 laying hens. I often wondered the same thing. Curious to hear what others have to say.

You should look at this link to see what factors might be affecting your hens. It could be a sign that something is wrong, but my guess is that the heat is stressing your hens.

I'll emphasize the point. While I think it is just the heat, I'm not there looking at your hens. It could be a warning sign that something is wrong.

Good luck!

We also went from about 16 eggs a day to about 3. It has to be the heat (I'm in Florida and it's been in the triple digits); they clamped up as soon as summer hit! My ducks too.

It was sorta cool on yesterday and I got 19 eggs. The heat index was in the 100's today and I only got 3 eggs. Must be the heat. We will have about 2 days of 104 degree heat here in Louisiana this week. I'm NOT looking forward to that.
