I live in the Desert and the temp outside is about 108F, inside the temp is about 80F. I would like to know when I can put my chicks outside they are about 7-8 wks old, starting to fly and live in my bedroom, ugh

. Will I have to keep them inside all summer? We,the grandkids & me, take them outside in the morning before it hits 100f and let them run around. Any info you can give me sure would help.In case it makes a difference they are Rhode Island Reds

I put mine out perminently at about that age the weathers plenty warm enough just make sure to give them a shady spot and cold water, but shouldnt be a problem check out my byc page.

Thanks for the input,KK

I live in Florida and we have plenty of hot weather here in the simmer. I have the birds coops and runs shaded. Their yard has trees in it for shade. Last week the temps were in the upper 90's. On really hot days I make giant ice cubes for their waterer. I put the giant ice cubes in their water and hopefully they are large enough to last for awhile.
