I took in a Houdan hen yesterday. (I named her Calpurnia) The woman I got her from has had her since she was a chick, and around 6 months old, she found Calpurnia not walking. She's been in this condition for 7 months now. I have her secluded but she can easily get to food and water by using her wings as a crutch. On a good week, she lays 3 eggs a week. When I touch her legs, she doesn't seem bothered or act like they're hurt... she doesn't move them... are they paralyzed? Do Houdans need something special in their diet? Will some vitamins do her any good? Thank you for the help!
