House duck trying to mate with dog

Hi, long story short I saved 2 Turkey eggs from a fox and was stunned when 2 ancona ducks hatched. 1 passed away shortly after hatching. Elmer is my love and we kept him falling in love immediately, not knowing what to do. He is a pet to say the least. He goes in and out of the house as he chooses and newly wears diapers inside. Well he's 6 months old now and he's starting to try to mate with my son and dog my dog highly disagrees and almost took his beak off and Elmer continues to try while my son has no understanding of the situation thank goodness... I guess my question is, is this fixable?we love him dearly and I don't want him hurt... what can I do, another duck is out of the question, I'd hate to rehome him, but I can't imagine him being mauled by another I love...

I couldn’t even be mad at the dog if it ended that duck. Poor dog!!!!

even if you get another duck it won’t solve the problem lol. my 5 are all imprinted to humans and are very annoying in the spring, best thing to do would be just redirect the behavior

yes whenever he tries it, give him a toy or treats or cuddles instead. works for my hens and drakes

a single duck outside would be really bad for his health
