Just a word of caution, there was a house fire near here yesterday caused by a chick heat lamp. I don't know how they had it rigged up, but the crate was on their closed in porch or something like that, and apparently the lamp caught the shavings on fire, it probably fell. Next time I have a heat lamp going, I'm going to be extra sure it's completely secured. The family was okay, but the house was ruined.
