As many of you know I have a pair of house geese, they're adorable little loves except for the poop (and I have carpet!!!! ewwww!!)
I'm actually planning to lay vinyl down in the near future, but it's been a financing problem that's delayed it; I wanted to know though, if a surface like vinyl would be a problem for their feet? I'm mostly worried about bumblefoot so any experience would be fantastic to hear about?

As adults they shouldn’t have any problems with the vinyl. Goslings would because of slipping. I can’t see vinyl causing bumble foot unless it’s rough.
Oh thats good to know, i thought that one of the causes of bumblefoot was spending lots of time on a hard surface

I don't have enough experience with geese (only 1 week's worth!) to help, but after having various pets over the years (including parrots), I would go with a top quality vinyl sheet. The less divots in the vinyl, the easier it will be wipe up and keep clean.

We are slowing refurbishing our house and need to replace the mudroom floor (dogs) and powder room floor (kitty litter room). I wanted to lay down vinyl plank in those two rooms (I prefer the look), but I am reconsidering in favour of vinyl sheet again. It's what we currently have in the mudroom and it's holding up well (except at the edges where it was poorly installed). The cheap 'soft' (or cushioned) vinyl in the powder room is a different story. It hasn't held up very well at all - and the cats aren't scratching it at (or being rough in some way)...but their hind claws have ripped little tears in the top coating - just from walking/running.

The vinyl plank, from what I understand, is tough enough, but I know from years of wiping up after parrots, the droppings will get into any little cracks and crevices and can be very frustrating to get out. Think scrubbing with a toothbrush...not fun.

Exactly the reason I want to go with sheeting, The planking looks much nicer but sloppy goose poops are going to seep into the cracks and ruin it.

I LOVE that I'm not the only one who makes home decor choices based on my critters. I once chose black, gray and silvery carpeting so it matched the coat colors of my ever-shedding Keeshond. And, with house dogs, cats and a chicken now, there are only washable rugs in my current house.

Best of luck in finding the right flooring for Norbert and Beep Beep!

Vinyl is going to be the only way! rugs are a temporary somewhat viable stop gap, but my house still stinks of poop! and i've met a girl too...
