One of my 10 chicks is especially attached to me- she’s always first out of the cage for flap time and always comes straight to me, content to perch on my shoulder the whole time. Today we actually did a little snuggling. So cute. I think she may become my (indoor) pet chicken. Is it possible to litter train her? Has anyone here ever done that?? Thanks

From what I have heard and see they have to wear chicken diapers or they will poop everywhere. Chickens also were prefer being around other chickens so she may get sad not having other chickens with her. I have never had a house chicken though so take this with a grain of salt

We are keeping our Golden Sexlink chicks indoors till it’s safe for them to stay outside. I know what you’re talking about. Mine are three weeks old and already have sweet personalities and follow me around. The crate isn’t very big so I leave one side open. They occasionally hop out and we have to coax them back in. Potty training will be tough; maybe squeeze her gently outside til she poohs, then bring her in for a while, back out to pooh, then in, etc. or study her pooping habits and train yourself to follow them.

Don't try to squeeze them—not only will you take the chance of hurting them, but you'll frighten them as well!

My aunt had a chicken that was indeed potty trained. She slept inside and everything, and she always had a way out if she wanted, and she only went out to poop. I don't know how she trained it, but I know it's possible. ;)

Oh yes? Well, the next time you are talking to your aunt... *waits patiently*
