I really like that - excellent job.

I've been all over Mr. Plamadon's site. That hoop house will be one of my projects for this fall.

Right after my own Whizbang plucker.

I house our in a PVC tractor and move it once a day. It can accommodate up to 30 birds. Check our site if you want to see it. It's nice and light, 1 person can move it.

I love your regular coop/run and your tractor for your meat birds. Just one question, though. Since the meat birds are in the tractor, how do you protect them from predators at night? The tractor idea for meat birds sounds great (and inexpensive), but I wouldn't want some predator getting them before I did! What is the best way to prevent that in a tractor living arrangement?

Thank you for your comments.

To tell you the truth, we don't have a "wild predator" problems here. This doesn't mean in the future we wont have any. I can stake the tractor down so nothing can lift it up, but this won't keep them out by tunneling. Another thought I had, I could use a solar/battery electric fence. Everyone has dogs here that roam on each others properties, so I think they keep the predators down. Last year our biggest predator for our veggie garden was one of our neighbors cows got lose and stepped over our garden fence. Yes the fence is only 18" tall and no the cow didn't like the hot peppers.

We have a dog kennel that is I think is like a 5X10 with a dog house attached, I will tarp the top and one of the sides and put chicken wire over the chain link on the rest of it, will be plenty for them and now that we no longer have labs but a house dog, we don't use it anymore, it will be perfect
