Hova-Bator Help!!!!

Hello there! We just purchased a hova-bator incubator today to put to use on a couple of eggs we already have at home. Upon opening we noticed that the adjusting screw and wing but for the thermostat are not present! The store we bought it from us closed and so is the manufacturer. Is there an acceptable substitute for this part until I can get the correct one?

You can find a machine screw at home depot and make your own.Take the wafer with you to make sure it is the right size.A machine screw and a wing nut should be easily available.Make sure the screw is long enough to reach the wafer and room for adjustments on top,I would think a 3" screw would do.
