Ok does anyone else have trouble getting their hova bator 1602n to the proper temp...i cant get mine higher than 99.0...and even then it goes from 98.8 to 99.0

Sometimes it depends upon the ambient room temperature.

In winter I have to put a towel over mine to keep it at 99.5

In summer it hums right along without a towel at 99.5

No, mine go higher, a LOT higher unfortunately, if I don't keep an eye on it and adjust the temps if the eggs begin to get more developed, or the weather warms up a bit and my home gets warmer. I have hatched a TON of chicks from them though, I gotta admit. Just hatched out about forty this weekend, hand turning, temps and humidity all over the board. If I were you I'd take one back that wouldn't go higher than 99. Or if it is not new, change the wafer thermostat and maybe get another thermometer or two to check. Could be your thermometer is off also. Good luck with figuring out and fixing whatever is wrong. It sounds very fixable.`
