My Hova 1590 is having trouble holding temps. I may be able to baby it through this hatch. It is now covered with a blanket, and the temp is getting close to 99.5.

I contacted the company, and they no longer make this model. According to the person helping me over the phone, it would cost $100+ to buy a new heating unit for it (includes shipping). If I have to spend that, I will buy an entire new incubator.

Any suggestions on replacement parts from other bators that might work for this one--at a more reasonable cost?

Thank you, Steve. I really don't know what's going on. Until my husband gets home, and figures out whether it is a thermostat issue or a heating element issue, I'm trying to consider my options.

At least he is only working a half day today. He's pretty handy--he might be able to jury-rig something for this hatch. We are known for the good ol' "jury-rig".

Hey, Lynn, I just replied to your emails. I have a spare wafer if you want to try that. Any time my bator starts acting like that, it's always the wafer, so maybe that's your problem???

Thanks Lori.

There is a good chance, I think, now that it is my thermometer that is off.

DH is buying another thermometer, so we can compare readings. Sheesh!
