Just had my incubator full of orpingtons eggs hatch. Put in 36 lavender orpingtons and five buff orpingtons. 8 lavender eggs weren’t fertile , the other 33 were good. Yesterday at day 21 I got 5 buff chicks and 26 lavender chicks . For a hatch rate of 94%. Job to beat that , genesis 1588 working great

Awesome! Congrats on an amazing hatch! Cute little chicks.

Can you tell me what your temp and humidity levels were? Also, did you open it to take out any chicks before all of them were hatched?
Temp was 100 degree F, humidity was 55% for first 18 days and i put it up to 65% for the rest of incubation. once i took turner out on day 18 i never opened the incubator until hatch was complete , on day 22. i sanitizer all eggs just before i put them in incubator with Purell sanitizer wipes, and i left the red plug out of top of incubator for better fresh air circulation. in the 1588 incubator filling up the #1 tray with water gave me 55% humidity and on day 18 i filled up #1 and #4 water trays for 65% humidity.
Before hatching this year i calibrated the 1588 temp with a good quality mercury thermometer, as it was 3/4 of a degree colder than the on board thermometer read. seemed to make a big difference this year with higher hatch rates along with sanitizing my eggs as well. I also sanitizes my incubator with the purell wipes between hatches
