hovabator still air proper temperature

just bought a new hova bator with automatic egg turner(no fan)...manufacturer says put thermometer on top of eggs and set incubator to 100 degrees....many articles I read, and an old tycos incubator thermometer says to set the temp at 103 degrees on the top of the eggs...big difference...what do you say if you have the same setup and some real experience at this???

I have an LG, not a Hova, but it is still air. I keep mine around 101.5 at the top of the egg
