hovabators or a cabinet?

i like the spaotsmen cause it has a hatcher tray and you can put eggs in it as you go along. can you do that with a fridge-incubator in so i need help for a design with pics. i would like it to have turners and preset temps along with the auto humidifirer.

I guess im the oddball here but I have a small hatchery and use hovabators, I have 15 of them, and they work well for me. I hatch guineas, quail, turkeys, bantam and standard chickens, standard ducks, call ducks and geese.. I sell at a farm auction every week from February to October and like hatching small amounts of each species every week. Small amounts every week sell better than having 2 or 3 hundred every 3 weeks or so. I have been collecting hovabators over the years at auctions so I got them pretty cheap. I ony have 4 that were purchased new. I guess I dont know much about cabinet models but dont know if they would work for me.

Oh yes the Cabinet would work great for you. You can set how many per week you want. I write on each egg with hatch date, type of chick.

I would choose cabinet.

I would build one out of an upright freezer if I could get ahold of a plan to make an automatic turner like the sportsman..

I built a wooden one that holds 3 of those hovabator turners.. If you go this route, do NOT use wood to make the door because the hmidity inside verses the non-humidity outside makes the door warp and it doesn't hold a seal well..

Also, I short changed myself on height between the shelves.. give yourself plenty of room so that you can reach in with your hand and remove eggs without having to remove the whole tray.. especially important if you are hatching eggs
that are due on many different dates.. and remember, some goose eggs get pretty long..

I made an automatic humidity system for my sportsman for less than $15.oo.. works like a dream..

I also made a hatching tray in the bottom on cabinet drawer pullouts.
makes it easier to get those chicks that always run to the rear of the hatcher tray.. also I made it to completely fill the bottom area of the bator.. many times there are early hatches that tumble down from above.. no big deal, they just end up in the hatching tray.. I have never had one get injured..

sorry for rambling...

Sorry people, I don't think your cabinet bators can hold up to my Octagon
40.

I want the new Sportman with the hatcher built in.
