*How about a high-tech hen pen????

* DH & I went to Costco this past weekend and found they have a set of 3 wireless COLOR vid-cams that are also supposed to do night pics for $145.oo!!! I Was thinking they might be great for keeping an eye on the pen. . . .

It would be great at identifying your predators and being able to look at the chicks without getting dressed and running out into the cold.

You have to remember though, unless your watching your security cameras all through the night, they are not a prevention. You also have to think about watching those tapes to see what got your birds that night, these scenes are not pretty.

Some people would not be able to stomache watching a coon pull one of their precious friends piece by piece through a fence. Or a mink going on a killing spree.

It would be cool to setup as a webcam so people could check out your birds in almost "live" time.

We are going to run ethernet cable when we run the electric line out to the henhouse. I want a webcam!!

Night vision would be interesting... I guess if I wire up a remote light switch, tho, I can just turn on the lights and see with the regular webcam.
