How about a Thread for Embdens?

What happened? non breakable mirror, stuffed animal or feather duster all work pretty good with goslings. I'd be a little worried about keep it in with the chicks they have such sharp beaks they could put a hurtin on it.

All but one were fully developed, 3 had internally pipped,4 hadn't =( I had a feeling that I should of poked a hole to look inside last night, they are all dead in the shell this morning. The chicks seem to be rather docile so far but in about a week I should have ducklings so she won't be alone. I'm waiting to see how many eggs we'll get from her mother then I'll introduce them. She started laying again 3eggs in three days =)

Are you going to let your goose sit these eggs? I'm sorry about the others, same thing happened last year with my gooses only viable egg. How's the gosling doing?

The gosling is doing great. It's up to my brother it's his goose I just do all the work ;) I think we'll wait and see how many she lays, probably put them in the bator and give her the gosling as she's been broody for a month and a half and deserves her baby.

Yeah she will be happy to get her baby. Be sure to post pics.

And I have got to have a separate bator just for water fowl so I can run the humidity higher, I had one last year but it's basically destroyed, might try to salvage the mechanism and try to build a coolerbator.

Hi everyone just wandering if anyone else is getting eggs from there geese yet I've been getting 5 eggs every day from 5 geese since October 21 and one is already setting is this normal and it seems like each year they lay earlier and earlier ?

None here but my females are Buff and Toulouse. I have seen on here others getting eggs already. Be prepared to help mom out if weather turns nasty and cold, it will be hard to have goslings this time of year. Unless you have a back up plan like a brooder ready if needed.

Thank you Mrs Lydia I do have a brood house ready for when they hatch that mom and babies will be put in. I'm so exited they will be my first natural hatching of goslings here on the farm can't wait. Is there anything that I should know r do to possibly have a better hatch percentage ? Parents r both 3 years of age.
