How about keeping a live trap going 24/7 in season?

I recently read about putting red lights outside the coop to ward off predators. I mentioned it to hubby and he said they see the light and think it's the eye of their predators, which scares them off. I saw some lights that are sold for this but hubby said all you need is a red led light. So I said good, put some on my chicken house please. While he's at it I might have him put one on our deck facing my bird feeders the coons and opossums like to get into at night.

yes, nite guard can be effective. but like anything like that. once a predator sees that it never moves (even though it blinks) it will eventually wise up to it. not unlike big plastic owls, etc.

but i truly thank you. i have very seriously considered night guard myself..................

For those who run a live trap 24/7.

do you run multiple sizes simultaneously, or just one size at a time. I am currently running three sizes simul.

also, do you find that the live traps operate sufficiently well in the dead of winter? Obviously keep them free of getting caked with snow and ice........!
