How ACV per gallon?

If you have "the mother", which is to say its a live ACV culture, then you are also adding a moderate acid-tolerant yeast to the chicken's gut, which may, or may not, help to make certain vitamins more bio-available to your birds.
This is the only kind that should be used, an important detail that many do not understand.

that dovetails nicely with an example of why I didn't link the studies. The Iranian study I didn't link actually put water (water chemistry not specified), in jars, added apple slices (seeded) to the jars, poured acetic acid over the top (amount not specified), stuck the jars in a dark place for three weeks, then used the strained liquid as their ACV... and claim it prevented Viral Newcastle Disease in their birds! But at least it was a live culture.
