Ok sooo,

we had a "pair" of ringneck doves that we got at auction, we're not sure of the genders but we think they're both female...

at any rate, up until about 4 days ago they lived in a big cage in our room, then we found out about the baby, didn't want to sell them, but we needed the room, but didn't want to stuff them in a smaller cage, sooo

I had the idea to put them in my duck pen, wich has a mesh top, where they've been quite happy, they have two perches with thier water and food bowls.

well, two days ago now, one of the doves got out of the pen, where it's been staying pretty close to it's "mate" whos still in the pen,but i can't catch it!.

it's been eating, and drinking from the chickens water, but I'm afraid somethings gonna happen to it, the cats think it looks mighty yummy

any ideas??

Can you set up a pen that you can leave open and then place it's mate in a closed cage within the pen and wait for it to enter??

Do you have a fishing net, you could try and catch it that way...Or the cage inside a cage is a good idea. But I would make sure it looks inviting to the dove...not to dark or scary...Maybe have it opened, but maybe have some sort of wind block to help protect the other dove that's inside the other cage...
Is it possible to leave your duck cage open (catch the other dove first), and just let the loose dove fly back in???
Hope you catch it soon...
