I want to know how they make bantams not true ones that actulaly are bantams but the ones that can be bantams

Please help this is a real intrest i won't to know how it is able to do this

I would assume you'd either breed them to already bantam sized birds and only keep the smaller birds......or just stay within your breed constantly breeding for smaller and smaller by selecting shorter birds that are still healthy and thriving. Least that's how I'd do it.

Well it happens like this, when a Roo bantam and a Hen bantam fall in love, the hen bantam starts laying eggs, and 21 days after she starts setting, you have little bantams running around.

No it doesn't happen that way!

The way I do it is this:

Line up all the standards in a row.
Then I accidentally "sit" on the birds.

By the time I'm done setting on them...they're half their original size!

Sorry...couldn't help myself!

You breed the smallest birds to the smallest birds. Takes SEVERAL generations and then you've got the whole "type" thing to worry about...

There are a few ways to do it. You could just breed large birds and keep selecting the smallest ones. Or you could cross breed. Lets take the sumatras for example. Some people got sumatra bantams by crossing large fowl sumatras with OEGB, modern game bantams and rose comb bantams then just bred back and forth until they got what they wanted.
What breed are you interested in making a bantam?

i would just like to now how because that wqay if the people only want that kind but in bantam form i could have several quick ways to get them
