Hi,

How are ducks as pets? I have been researching them. How long do they usually live? What is their behavior towards humans?

Thanks!

Ducks can make fantastic pets! It all depends on how you raise them. The more you handle them as ducklings the friendlier they are when they are adults. My ducks will come up into my lap if I sit down and let me pet them. They also follow me around my yard. I take them for walks to my mail box :). I am also raising a lone duckling so he thinks hes a human. He is the friendliest duck I ever had. He will snuggle up next me and loves to be pet and picked up. I love my ducks and would not give them up for anything :). Good luck!

I have been told ducks can live more than ten years, but due to predator deaths, the average is about 3 or 4 years. I think I got that from Storey's Guide.
