How beneficial is having a rooster?

Thanks everyone for your advice. He hasn't been aggressive at all yet. He let me sit nearby and take his picture today while they were pecking around. I saw him get frisky with an older hen yesterday so maybe he'll be ok.

Oh Hank. He is doing such a great job keeping the ladies under the trees and rounded up. But last week he chased the babysitter and this morning he kept running up to my young son and doing a little step dance thing and then ruffled up his neck feathers. Poor guy. My tolerance is low so it's 1 strike and you're out.

Oh, come on, he is such a pretty guy! I would have been killed long ago if all you had to do to earn such a sentence was to dislike someone...

He is lucky my brother-in-law wants a rooster to run around his house. I just can't have him tormenting the little kids and worrying where he's at all the time

He is very handsome. But I agree, its always best to put family before animals. I'm glad he has a place to go where he can be happy.
