How big a coop and run do I need?

I have 5 roosters, 5 hens, and 4 baby chicks right now. All are separated. I am having a coop and yard fixed for them. I would like to have it divided in half. How big do you think the run needs to be and also the coop(s) if I have 2? Can I separate the roosters from the rest, so I don't have to cull them? I've tried Craigslist to find a home for the roosters, with no luck.

I'm new to all this, so please bear with me. Thanks!

Most people on this board feel that a coop should offer a minimum of 4 sq ft per chicken of indoor space and 6-10 sq ft per chicken of run space. Personally I would double or triple that, they seem a lot happier. It depends somewhat on your climate (if you live in, like, Hawaii and they will virtually never want to spend most of the day indoors, you can skimp more on indoor space)

Good luck and have fun,

Pat
