I have 14 4 week old chicks that I would like to move outside so that I can move the 12 1week old chicks in to the bigger brooder. I need a idea of what size coop/run I would need for them outside. I have a coop/run but I have 15 older birds in there at this time that also get to free range. I do have woods behind me and I really don't want to go looking for the little ones. I have already had to do that.

1. how big should it be?
2 how long should that stay in there before I move then to big coop and free range?

I was thinking of a tractor so that I could move then around the yard too.

Standard rule id that you need 4sq Feet PER bird in the COOP for 14 birds that would be 56 sq feet
For the Run it is 10 sq feet PER bird (you can have less if you let them free range most of the time) for 14 birds that equals 140 sq feet

as for your Second question, I am not understanding what you are really asking...

I have 14 chicken in my coop that are from 6+months old to 7 weeks old and a lot of them are roosters. At what age should I move my 4wekk old chicken in to there and let them be out free ranging. All my chickens free range most of the day but today I must have lost one for I did have 15 till I locked up tonight.

for my coop i did about 2 square feet per bird in the coop only because they only would lay and sleep in there otherwise they were in the run. mine was about 15 square feet. but usually 10 square feet per bird will be comfortable.
