how big of a coop to build?

I'm planning to build a coop in the next month or two depending on the thaw. I have 3 bantams plus hope to get barred rock and barred rock crosses(about) how big of a coop do they need? we will have a run for them for when we are not home is 6x5 and will be double layer to give more room as it's tall and will be well protected from the elements, we could extend the run later if the size is too small , we are home alot and plan to be home most of the summer this year. We are thinking of copying this idea minus the brooder http://www.readycoop.com/ is it really enough room?

Most anyone will tell you 4 sq ft inside the coop per chicken, and 10 sq ft outside.

I like the urban coop picture. And if you're home a lot (you lucky dogs!) you'll have plenty of time to observe the results and make other plans.

Chickens don't care about looks as long as they can eat and get out of the weather. That's why I love them!
