How big should my run be?

I don't disagree - however, in an overcrowded coop (as this would be) having the *option* of escape into the run can be a good thing if/when something happens during the hours that the chickens would normally be confined with the coop locked up.

This would only be considered overcrowded in very cold, snowy climates. I have kept up to 16 hens in a 4x4 coop without any problems at all and very happy hens.

You misread that but that's ok. Thank you for your advice and opinions which everyone is entitled to but I also have my own. Plans will continue on but thank you.
