The rule that you must have at least 20 posts in order to post im the BST forum is honestly one of the best ideas the creators of BYC could think of. I mean, without this rule, people would get on BYC simply for buying and selling their chickens. This rule really helps keep this website based more like a blog than an ebay/craigslist. Which is the way it should be.

It is also a GREAT IDEA to have separate categories of forums.. Different peeps navigate to different categories.. For EXAMPLE...... I know very little about genetics, so I avoid those threads since I cant help there.. I am quite knowledgeable in coop construction Ideas. I visit those since I feel I may be of help there.

And since you are quite new here,,,,,,,, I also do like to make you feel. [IMG]

Frequently people just try to sneak in plugs for their business or want to sell equipment/birds - with no intention of hanging around or desire to learn about chickens. Often they are quite blatant in their approach like BYC owes them something. Other newbies just really don't understand the system and are happy to comply once it is explained to them.
