How can a chicken be fine 1 moment & dead the next??

Last evening when I put everybody in for the night everybody was fine. Happy clucking chickens. This morning when I opened their coop door I had a dead australorp with no apparent reason. She was in the corner of the coop where she always slept only she was in her forever sleep. It is so upsetting & sad. I have no idea what happenend to her. I checked her over, not a mark on her.

OH I'm SO sorry

I have a D'uccle do that and it is very sad. She too was in the corner on the coop floor. Possibly a heart problem. Did you check for mites/lice on her?

I checked every inch of her for any thing I could think of. She was clean as a whistle & such a pretty, loving happy girl she was too!!And a greategg layer to boot!!
